1. Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the RoadRune mobile application ("App") or any related services ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). RoadRune is an AI-powered car diagnostics application available on iOS and Android platforms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the App. Your continued use after such notification constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
2. Description of Service
RoadRune is an AI-powered car diagnostics mobile application that provides:

- •Warning light scanner - Use your camera to identify dashboard warning lights
- •AI chat assistant - Get answers to car-related questions
- •Fair price estimates - Receive repair cost estimates for identified issues

- •Maintenance tracking - Track service history and upcoming maintenance
3. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
IMPORTANT: AI DIAGNOSTICS ARE FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY
RoadRune uses Google Gemini AI to analyze audio recordings, images, and user queries to provide diagnostic suggestions and information about potential vehicle issues. You acknowledge and agree that:
- !AI-generated diagnoses are not a substitute for professional mechanic inspection and should not be solely relied upon for vehicle repair decisions
- !Diagnostic results are based on AI interpretation and may not accurately identify all vehicle problems or conditions
- !Price estimates are approximate and actual repair costs may vary significantly based on location, labor rates, parts availability, and other factors
- !You should always consult a qualified mechanic or automotive professional before making repair decisions or continuing to operate a vehicle with suspected issues
- !RoadRune is not liable for any damages, injuries, or losses resulting from reliance on AI-generated diagnostic information
4. Account Registration & Security
4.1 Account Creation
To use RoadRune, you must create an account using social login (Apple or Google authentication). You agree to:
- Provide accurate information during the authentication process
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Promptly notify us of any unauthorized access or security breaches
- Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
4.2 Vehicle Information
You may add vehicle information to your account, including VIN (Vehicle Identification Number), make, model, year, and other details. You represent that you have the right to provide such information and that it is accurate.
5. Subscription & Payment
5.1 Free Tier
RoadRune offers a free tier with limited features, including:
- 3 audio diagnoses per month
- 3 warning light scans per month
- 1 vehicle in your garage
- Basic AI chat assistance
5.2 Premium Subscription
RoadRune Premium ($9.99/month introductory pricing) provides unlimited access to all features:
- Unlimited audio diagnoses
- Unlimited warning light scans
- Unlimited vehicles in your garage
- Priority AI chat assistance
- Detailed diagnostic reports
- Maintenance reminders and tracking
5.3 Auto-Renewal & Cancellation
Premium subscriptions are billed monthly and automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage and cancel your subscription through your Apple App Store or Google Play Store account settings. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period.
5.4 Refunds
Subscription fees are generally non-refundable. Refund requests are handled according to Apple App Store and Google Play Store policies. Contact the respective app store for refund requests.
6. Acceptable Use
6.1 Permitted Use
You may use RoadRune for personal, non-commercial vehicle diagnostics and maintenance tracking. You retain all rights to your audio recordings, photos, and vehicle data.
6.2 Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- ✕Use the Service for commercial automotive diagnostic services without authorization
- ✕Upload content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes on third-party rights
- ✕Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the App
- ✕Use automated systems or bots to interact with the Service
- ✕Circumvent usage limits or attempt to access premium features without payment
- ✕Share your account credentials or allow others to access your account
- ✕Upload false or misleading vehicle information
- ✕Use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the Service
7. Your Data & Content
7.1 User-Generated Content
When using RoadRune, you may create and upload content including:
- Audio recordings of engine sounds and vehicle noises
- Photos of dashboard warning lights and vehicle components
- Vehicle information (VIN, make, model, year, mileage)
- Maintenance records and service history
- Chat messages and queries to the AI assistant
7.2 Ownership
You retain all ownership rights to the content you upload to RoadRune ("Your Content"). We do not claim ownership of Your Content.
7.3 License Grant
You grant RoadRune a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, process, and transmit Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you, including processing through AI systems to generate diagnostic information. This license terminates when you delete Your Content or close your account.
7.4 AI Processing
Your audio recordings, photos, and queries are processed by Google Gemini AI to provide diagnostic analysis and responses. We do not use Your Content to train general AI models. AI outputs are provided "as-is" and should be verified by a qualified mechanic.
7.5 Data Storage
Your vehicle data, diagnostic history, and content are stored securely in our cloud infrastructure (Supabase). You may delete your data at any time through the App settings.
8. Intellectual Property
8.1 Our Intellectual Property
The RoadRune App, including its software, design, features, AI models, and documentation, is owned by RoadRune and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or brand features.
8.2 Feedback
If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Service, we may use them without obligation to compensate you. Such feedback becomes our property.
9. Third-Party Services
RoadRune integrates with third-party services including:
- Google Gemini AI for diagnostic analysis and chat functionality
- Apple and Google for authentication services
- Apple App Store and Google Play Store for payments
- VIN decoding services for vehicle information
Your use of such integrations is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services' availability, accuracy, or content.
10. Service Availability & Support
10.1 Availability
We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or factors beyond our control. AI features depend on third-party AI services and may be affected by their availability.
10.2 Support
Support is provided via email. We aim to respond to inquiries within a reasonable timeframe but do not guarantee specific response times.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ROADRUNE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
- • Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
- • Any vehicle damage, personal injury, or property damage resulting from reliance on AI-generated diagnostic information
- • Inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading diagnostic results or price estimates
- • Decisions made based on AI recommendations without professional verification
- • Loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
- • Damages exceeding the fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim
- • Any downtime, errors, or service interruptions
These limitations apply regardless of the theory of liability (contract, tort, or otherwise) and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
SPECIFICALLY, WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:
- • AI-generated diagnoses will be accurate, complete, or reliable
- • Price estimates will reflect actual repair costs
- • The Service will identify all vehicle problems or safety issues
- • The Service will be error-free, secure, or available at all times
AI-generated content is provided for informational purposes only and should not replace professional automotive diagnosis and repair services.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless RoadRune, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:
- Your use of the Service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights
- Your Content uploaded to the Service
- Any actions taken based on AI-generated diagnostic information
- Any vehicle operation decisions made using the Service
14. Termination
14.1 Termination by You
You may terminate your account at any time by deleting your account through the App settings. Active subscriptions should be cancelled through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store before deleting your account to avoid continued charges.
14.2 Termination by Us
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or misuse the Service. We will provide notice before termination except in cases of serious violations.
14.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination, your access to the Service will cease. Your vehicle data, diagnostic history, and uploaded content will be deleted. We may retain certain data as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
15. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of Delaware, at our discretion.
16. General Provisions
Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and RoadRune regarding the Service.
Severability
If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver of that right.
Assignment
You may not assign your rights without our written consent. We may assign our rights to an affiliate or successor.
